5/18/09 - Box status unknown. This update is from crazydaisygirl on April 19. 2009:
I tried to find your letterbox the other day. The directions were good. But, there is construction happening on the parking lot at the visitors center for Dead Horse Point. We searched and didnt' find the box.
Special Notes: There are other boxes up the trail from “High Noon.” Make sure to print the clues to “Dead Horse Point” placed by Kat and “Dancing Kokopelli” placed by Kennamtn before heading out. CW Sun Seeker has also placed a box near to “Dancing Kokopelli” so be sure to watch for a new posting soon. In addition several attendees from the Box on the Rocks gathering have already stamped in the logbook. However, the first finder artifact is still in place for the “real” first finder.
Take highway 191 heading North from Moab and look for signs going to the Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. Turn left on Highway 313 and follow the mesa for approximately 14 miles. Turn left at Dead Horse Point State Park. Stop at the visitor’s center and park at the far end of the parking lot (away from the visitors center).
Notice the red brick colored sidewalk next to the parking lot at the visitor’s center. Walk to the end of the sidewalk heading away from the visitors center. Now count 7 boulders at the end of the parking lot that are sitting in the dirt from the end of the sidewalk. Next to the 7th boulder there is a little bush. Reach inside the bush and under a few river rocks you will find “High Noon” hiding.
This is a high traffic area so be sure to hide the box well before you continue your quest for boxes up the trail. Please contact me should the box be in bad repair, come up missing or just to say hello. Blackvelvetrav@yahoo.com. Happy Hunting!
