The Misplaced New Englander LbNA # 14418 (ARCHIVED)
|Placed Date||Apr 12 2005|
6/7/06 - The letterbox has been replaced in a slightly different location. This one shouldn't get washed out.
As you can probably guess from the name of this letterbox, and perhaps from the locations of other boxes I've placed, Boise is not my home. I do have to travel here periodically, so I thought I'd bring a bit on New England here with me.
It's a pretty easy box to locate. Hopefully the character depicted by the stamp doesn't mind being so far from home, or being so close to fresh water.
Start your search on Parkcenter Blvd. Look for BayBrook Ct, across from Park Center Park. You might find a parking spot along the street, otherwise you may have to park nearby and walk up BayBrook Ct. It's not a very long street.
Once you get to the end of the street, follow the foot/bike path down to the Greenbelt. Head west along the river. Watch for a picnic area, with 2 picnic tables, overlooking the river on the right. You should see a trash barrel to the left of this outlook area.
Continue West on the bike path 8 paces (15 steps) past the picnic area. You will see a large fallen log next to the path. You’ll find the Misplaced New Englander tucked at the base of the tree stump next to the East end of the log.
Please drop me an email (borisdm@ adelphia.net) if you find this letterbox, or if it needs attention. Of course, any maintenance will have to wait for my next trip to Boise.
