UPDATE: This series was seized by park officials in late 2006 and will not be replanted.

(Carved by Downhill Dad of 123 Family)

This series was originally going to be planted nearer the ocean, but due to gale force winds on the beach, we had to find an alternative. So these marine animals are a bit farther from home, but would still enjoy a visitor or two.

Driving away from the beach we crossed a long bridge and found ourselves in a Nice 357 acre Park named after an Air Force Colonel who helped transform the area from a World War II bombing practice range.

Find the trailhead of Red Cedar. 17 steps after the #1 post. In the stump on right, a few steps off the trail, and you’ll find sea animal #1 under a few sticks. Please rehide better than found.

Continue on the trail, passing lots of reindeer moss. After #5 and the Wooden Boa, look for a gateway of trees overhanging the trail. Standing in front of the gateway, look right for a tree with a large five foot gash on trail-facing side (approx 30-40 feet off the trail.) Directly behind at base and under log, you’ll find sea animal #2. Please rehide better than found.

Continue on the trail, trail winds around after #11. Past stump on right and leaning pine tree on left. With back to leaning pine, site 95 degrees or East. From trail edge, walk approx. 21 steps to a very small stump with bark pile lying on top. Look under to find sea animal #3. Please rehide better than found.
