One letterbox planted for Chapuline during her birthday bash. Even though she was thousands of miles away in Mexico,
the rest of the family had a great party.

This is a drive-by planted in the Haffenreffer Forest, which is almost 200 acres of land bordering Spectacle Pond and donated for conservation by the Haffenreffer Beer family.

Directions: from interstate 89 take exit 17, turn onto Route 4 east and go 9.9 miles to Potato Road, turn right (Potato Road turns into a well kept dirt road)and go 2.9 miles to the stop sign. Turn left onto Lockhaven Road and go 0.5 miles to the Haffenreffer Forest sign on the right. About 100 feet past the sign is a driveway type opening where you can pull in to park except for winters and mudd season. During those times seek a wide spot on the road to pull over.

After parking your car look for the white cemetery sign in the far left corner of the field. It says "Burham Cemetery" and when you get there you'll see a square made of stone walls which is an old cemetery with one wooden headstone. Look in the roots of the tree to the right of this headstone.

Look closely through the trees and you might see the pond and maybe a loon or two raising their young. I've seen them many times. Bring a picnic lunch and you'll be sure to hear them "talking" to each other (summers only).

The stamp was carved by Cody B Cleo of CT.
