Millbrook Meadow was the site of a saw & grist mill built in 1701 and later a factory built in 1871. The factory burned down in 1932, and in 1938 Rockport residents turned the site into a park.

The main entrance to this park is located on Beach St. directly across from Front Beach. Walk along the pathway to the small pond behind the playground. Cross the stone bridge towards the narrow staircase that leads up to King Street. After you've crossed the bridge, follow a small dirt path to the left, stopping at the large rocks that surround the tree overhanging the pond. Stepping over the plants, sit on the rocks beside the tree and pretend to be engrossed in the view of the pond in front of you. The tree should be directly to your right as you face the pond, and the bridge you just crossed towards your left.

You'll find the Bull Frog Pond letterbox in a crevice below the large root extending towards you from the base of the tree trunk. This deep hole is covered by bark and a medium-sized flat rock. Watch for crawly things as you reach in - you may want to wear gloves just in case.

It appears that this shallow crevice extends over to the other side of the tree. If you can't find the box from the first side, you may want to scramble over the rocks to check from the other side of the trunk. This box has been reported missing a few times now, but has always been found in place by later searchers who stuck their hand in a little deeper.

This park is very popular and is also meticulously maintained. Please stamp in discreetly and rehide the box carefully when you're done. This box is an orphan -- please send me box condition updates through the email link below if you find it.

If your search leaves you famished, the lobster bisque at the nearby Peg Leg Inn is very, very tasty.

Notes:
1 There's neither inkpad nor pencil in the box, so be sure to bring your own.
2 Replace the box carefully in its hiding place after you've stamped in.
