Time 1 1/2 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Note: some poison ivy long pants advised
Rte 195 in Mansfield Center to Clovermill Rd. Follow to the small parking lot on the right. Take the road runner to the immediate clearing. Head east to the lonbe Maple. Take North trail pass along edge then thru small meadow. Note grapes and apples. Up a rise to the woods an old foundation lies. now due south to road. Careful, turn 120 degrees follow at 52 paces turn 220 degrees. Cross carefully.
Next to Aunt Jemima's grove from 6 on right go down no trail, keep the road on your right. At waters edge due south on trail ( could be wet) . away from the dam onto ski trail. Now as the sun rises you go. Is the road on your left?
3 planks to cross step softly now.....
A farmer bent a weary back to stack and stack, pass on through.
Huff and Puff to the crossroad Heritage and Barrows, S.W. 220 degrees
I think I can , I think I can..... Go to the 3 sisters on the right.
3 in a row, tic-tac-toe
280 degrees on through the woods. 16 steps over the rock you go
6 steps more 1-2-3-4 stacked on the forest floor.
Another 24. Are you stumped?
Be secretive since this is a popular trail. Let no one see your woodland mail!
I wasn't seen, though voices I heard, so I planted the box and continued like this..... Return by going south to the trail, walk up the hill at Barrows, continue to the Y. Then from here it's Barrows and Nipmuck with Blue dots to follow check it at 320 degrees NW. Pass the rocky and the bridge, over the wall, stay with the dots. Hear the cars? You're almost done.
Cross the road carefully, down the right to return to your car.
