I have adopted this letterbox from our very own "Hello From Joe" (or Joseph)

NOTE: This is a 2 mile scenic hike at Case Mountain Park. There are several possible starting points to choose from. Parking areas can be found on Birch Mountain Road (near the corner of Highland St.) and on Spring Street (near an old mill). The directions posted here are an option for you. The box itself is located near the summit. Once you get to the top, watch the clues very carefully! Happy trails...enjoy!

Park at the Case Mountain parking area on Birch Mountain Rd. It is 1/10 of a mile from the corner of Highland St. Follow the trail on the south corner of the lot. At the 1st junction, turn left on the white blazed trail. It is wide and gravelly. (Watch for mountain bikes) Anyway, soon you will come to a bench on the left, at the junction of the blue Shenipsit Trail. If you wish, stop here and contemplate the meaning of life for a moment (Don't think too hard, though). Turn right onto Blue here, walk over a wooden bridge, and after 100 yards come to a 4-way intersection. Turn left on blue towards the summit. You will be climbing along a ledge overlooking the carriage path. After about 10-15 minutes, keep your eyes open for the yellow trail. Turn right here to get to the summit.

Once at the top, enjoy the vista! Then:
Search for the geodesic survey marker that features the name of a tree on it. Follow the arrow for 30 steps. Then pull out your compass and take 55 steps at 70 deg. Look to your left. See a ledge area that is about 15 ft long and 3 feet high. Carefully slide the end stone away, just in case!

Afterwards, explore (or find other boxes in the area), and return to your car the same way you came. Hope you had fun!
