RECEIVED REPORT THAT A NEW BOX IS NEEDED FOR PEARL JAM. I NO LONGER LIVE IN THE STATE. IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON HUNTING THIS, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO MAIL YOU A REPLACEMENT BOX TO BRING WITH YOU.

Thanks to Skip for helping me plant!

These boxes are placed in a part of the park that didn’t seem to have any of the battle of the bands boxes. They can be done as a continuation from “Battle of the Bands – Raindears” or on their own.

To start on your own, use the PA Guild of Craftsmen Craft Center entrance of the park; pull down the long driveway and park in the lot on your left (the center is on the right). Start off heading North on #1 Lane Trail; you will eventually pass the Hay Barn Grass Trail (equestrian) on your left.

Or to start from the Mystery Artist in “Battle of the Bands – Raindears”, continue on the trail in the direction you were heading when you found the Mystery Artist until you reach the paved path. Turn left onto the paved path.

From either of the points above you will continue on the paved path up the hill. You will pass a picnic bench where the road curves to the right. Continue to follow the paved path; just before the road curves to the left you will find a side trail on the right. Take this downhill, turning left at the T.

Go left at the stump, then step over a downed tree. You will go up and down some rocky “steps”. If you are observant you may spy a wooden bridge off on the right. At another large downed tree (the base originates just to the left of the trail and extends far to the right of the trail), you will see three large rocks in a row off trail to the left (north). At the base of the rock farthest to the right you will find Love*Seed*Momma*Jump.

Affectionately known as “Love Seed” this is a relatively local band from Delaware that plays a mixture of classic rock covers and their own funny originals. I’ve seen them many, many times and pretty much always have a good time. Check them out at loveseed.com. The stamp is a carving of their “Summer of Love” CD, which is live and lots of fun!

Moving on, you will continue on the trail in the same direction you were previously heading. When you come to a junction, turn right towards the creek. Pass a big mossy rock on the right, and notice the cool rock wall on the other side of the stream. Cross the bridge (you might have seen this earlier), and take the trail to the right. Up the log steps you go.

At the intersection at the top, turn right. You will pass the base of a fallen tree that reminded me of an exploding star – stay to straight/left here, immediately spying the end of a cut tree on the left. Follow to its base to find the Pearl*Jam box.

This is a band that really opened my eyes to music and a whole new world. Their album “Ten” (this stamp is from the cover) is still one of my all time favorites. Very intelligent, moving lyrics set to some rocking good music. A great time, live, too.

To get back to the starting point, continue on the trail in the same direction you were heading, going left at the V. Go straight at the intersection, up the small bank to get to the paved path. Make a right, shortly going up hill past the horse crossing.

At the next intersection (where you will learn you are on the Natural Area trail and see that the paved Stable Mill trail is on the left), you will go to the right. Immediately the paved path will make a quick curve to the left. Soon this will curve to the right, and a straight walk will take you past the Craftsmen Center and back to your car.

Let me know how the boxes are doing! Hope you had fun!
