On December 29, 2010 FORAYCH adopted this letterbox so it could continue its long run in its location. We did so because this location is not far from our home and it was one of our very first finds as letterboxers :) The following information to find the box was written by the original planters, with minor adjustments due to road changes: The Lunch Bunch's Basket The first letterbox placed by The Lunch Bunch! Wednesday, May 18, 2005 The Lunch Bunch's Basket ~ One of the Lunch Bunchers grew up only a couple of miles from this letterbox site and had many picnics here, so when a spot was needed to leave a basket, this promptly came to mind. Maybe you'd like to pack a picnic and enjoy it on this outing... To find the location of the basket... ~ Begin where I-105 and Main St. meet in Springfield. Take Bob Straub heading south (as if I-105 was continuing). Follow Bob Straub then turn right on 57th street and stay on this as it veers left up the hill and toward Mount Vernon. Turn in to the Mount Vernon Pioneer Cemetery on the right. To pick up The Lunch Bunch's Basket... ~ Park by the block building. Standing with your back to the flag pole, walk past the grey heart tombstone to the fence. Walk north along the fence. In the sparcely populated second row from the fence, you will find the name 'Janna Elise Isitt' and the date 'July 8, 1998' (7/8/1998). Note the sheep and most important symbols. Facing east toward the little hills (Potato Hill - no joke!), journey through the living memorial arch. You should now be back on the gravel road. ~ Wander past 'Smeed' and 'Edmiston'. Before 'McBride' ewe will find a white lamb. Turn directly south and follow this line until you approach the first of the largest trees - there will be a leaning tombstone within a handsbreadth of it. ~ From the base of this close fellowship, the sum of the aforementioned individual digits is the approximate number of steps to an ancient grey headstone being overtaken by an upstart boxwood hedge. Find our basket on the bushy side of the Harbert Stone. In The Lunch Bunch You Would Find: The Three Sisters, Princess, The Brown Eyed Pea, Lady Lew
