11/16/2008 -- NOTE: Because of an injury, we haven't been able to get out to our boxes this year. We hope to maintain them in the spring. Until then, our apologies if they're not findable, or in bad condition. -- Ace + Lox

LOCATION: Mt. Pisgah Conservation Land. For directions, go to your favorite mapping program (such as http://www.mapquest.com/directions), and where it asks for Address or Intersection, enter Andrews Rd and Samoset Rd in Winchester. At the other end of Andrews Rd, beyond the school playing field, is a small parking area with a Mt. Pisgah sign. Please note that some of these roads have Do Not Enter signs for school drop-off times of 8:30-9:00 am, and 2:30-3:15 pm.

STAMP: Hand drawn & carved

BRING: Compass and pen for working out clues

INFORMATION: Mt. Pisgah is an 11 acre woodland with a small, simple trail system surrounding a water tower.

CLUES:

Climb the hill to the "T."

At the top of the tower are 4 sluices each pointing in a different direction (N, E, W, S). Your first task is to find the following 4 objects. All are located directly on the path that circles the tower. At each object, record which sluice you’re nearest. (You may not see it through the trees.)

You do not need to find these in order.

1.________ A steel pipe near lichen covered rocks.
2.________ A cedar with a "T."
3.________ A square stone marker with a circle drilled in the center.
4.________ A large, split boulder with a patch of quartz on it.

Return to the original "T."

Go (CLUE 1) until the first intersection.
Go (CLUE 2) until the first intersection.
Go (CLUE 3) until the first intersection.
Go (CLUE 4) until the first tree on the right with a hollow at its base.
Go east 25 steps. Look in the likely spots. Please rehide well.
