UPDATE:
Box 1. Replaced - new location - 09/20/2008
Box 2. Logbook replaced - 11/18/2007
This series planted in conjunction with the Old Zoo Gathering held May 22, 2005. Thank you Q for organizing it.
These two boxes are placed within a short distance of the gathering in Griffith Park. There is a lot of foot traffic in the area so please be extra discrete.
#1 Winchester
Start at the Gene Autrey Museum from the south end parking area follow the blue-studded LA River to the Luiseno Basket, and continue west past the Council Tree. Follow the line of bushes to your right, as you reach the end you will find a lone oak tree. Continue past this location along the bush line as it doubles back and meets a wood-looking, concrete fence. The camoflaged box is under some small rocks and leaves about two feet before the fence and slightly into the bushes.
#2 Carousel.
From the Beatles Rock, a stone’s throw from the Merry-Go-Round, walk 7 steps uphill and enter bushes through opening. Proceed 8 steps to the tree straight ahead. The box is located in the fork of the three-trunked tree (now two trunks, and a stub) to your left about 4 feet up. The ground gets a bit steep and slippery, so be careful. Please rehide well with branches and leaves.
