Located in natural old growth forest, this used to be a favorite spot for overnights before camping was banned. It is still a beautiful, overlooked spot.

The hike is a little over two miles total, with about 800 feet of elevation gain.

Find the pond that sounds like the land the Princess Bride was abducted to. Canoe or hike to the far end of the pond. Although camping is no longer allowed here, you can still see several camping spots near the shoreline. One of these camping spots has a tree with a red blaze on one side and an old blue blaze on the other. From the fire ring walk 15 steps north and stand on the low, moss-covered rock. Turn to 100 degrees and walk until you intersect the trail, about 28 steps. You will know you are on it because you can look either right or left and see a triangular blue blaze. Follow the trail uphill almost to the blaze, until you are as high as you can go without going back down. At 90 degrees you will see a rock through two trees. Stand on that rock and sight 40 degrees to a low mossy outcrop about 18 steps away. The box is hidden under an overhang behind a few well placed rocks. Please rehide carefully.

Sorry, there is no stamp pad in the box - please bring your own.
