Back in the late 1800s/turn of the century, Frank Buhl founded the Sharon Steel Corporation and was a partner in United State Steel Corporation. Like Pittsburgh, it was the steel industry that became one of the Shenango Valley’s main sources of income and financial stability for the next hundred years.
Frank and his wife Julia spent their time and money on improving the community. One of their great legacies is Buhl Park.
To find the box:
There are numerous ways to enter the park. Here is a link to a map which might help you find your find. . .http://www.buhlfarmpark.com/other/parkmap.htm
Once in the park, you want to find the statues of Frank and Julia Buhl - near the Julia Buhl Memorial Garden. Standing in front of the statues, walk to your left over the Memorial Garden area. Go down the 5 or so steps at the top of the walkway. You should have the stonework along the path on your right. From the bottom of these 5 steps, walk 14 steps down the path. Stop and look to the right at the stonework. You should see a whitish rock in the middle about 8 inches or so wide. Microbox is wedged back behind this rock.
Please be careful when disturbing the stonework, and make sure to replace so nothing sticks out.
Let us know the status!
Thanks
