This hike will be about 4 miles round trip. It will take you between 1 1/2 to 3 hours depending on how you hike. We like to take a picnic lunch up here.

Take Rt. 63 south from Rt 9 which runs east/west in Chesterfield. You will go bast a church, library, school, town offices, police station, and fire stations on your left. Now look for the first road on your right called stage road. Take it and then take the road on your left (it is a dirt road). You will come to an intersection with a stop sign. After stopping continue straight until the road will "Y" with gulf road. Take a right onto Gulf road and continue down it. In about 1 1/2 to 2 miles you will see a parking area on the left with a sign and a pond in the background. Park and take the path across the dam and keep on the path to the left. Soon you will come to a mailbox with maps in it on the trails here. Take the Daniel Hills trail and follow the path to the left everytime you meet an intersection. There are two vistas on this trail. Your letterbox is located at the second vista. It is the only vista with a large stone turret to indicate direction during fog. Six steps to the right of the stone turret under a small pile of rocks you will find your letterbox. Enjoy the beutiful views. I find this vista most beautiful looking over the Connecticut River Valley! Be careful of red ants on parts of this trail. They like to linger on some of the large rocks.
Enjoy the views!
