General information: This letterbox is located on the northwestern corner of the lake at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site. There is a bicycle trail that circles the lake and is 3.8 miles in length. The trail is asphalt and is stroller-friendly. Dogs are also allowed on-leash. The directions to the box are based upon starting the trail at the swimming beach parking lot. Currently, the swimming beach is closed It took me about 1-1 1/2 hours to walk the trail and place the box, but it really shouldn't take too long to find it. Originally this box was a "bonus" box, along with 2 others. The first 2 have since disappeared. There can be a lot of muggles on this trail, so a lookout person would be handy. More information can be found at http://www.mostateparks.com/wwmill.

Go to the Watkins Woolen Mill Historic Site and State Park near Lawson, Missouri. Follow the signs to the parking lot for the swimming beach. Follow the paved trail to the north (left). You will cross a wooden bridge that has an 8 on the right-hand side railing. Continue to follow the trail. At the end of the beach, the trail re-enters the woods. Continue on the trail for quite a bit, and eventually you will cross a second bridge with a wooden railing. As you walk, there will be a bench with a trash can on the left. Keep going and the trail will eventually go downhill, then you will pass another bench on the right, overlooking a stream. From the bench, go 88 footfalls to a culvert. Go 27 steps to the tree stump on the left, then go 58 steps to a gravel path leading to a creek on your right. Go another 15 steps to another gravel path on your right. Go 16 more steps. The box is on the far side of the tree on your left, beneath some logs. Please bring your own ink and a writing utensil of choice.

This area has a lot of poison ivy, so use caution. Please rehide this box well, as this can be a well-traveled path. Also, please give me an update on this box. Good luck, and hope you enjoy the area!
