NOTE: please use both side of pages in the logbook.

From the junction of Highways 99 and 32 in Chico head east on 32 towards Chester. Go left at the second light, Forest Ave. Forest ends in a T at Bidwell Park. You will find a parking area against the chainlink fence, just to the left.

In 1938, this lovely oak and sycamore forest was temporarily home to Errol Flynn and his band of merry men when they came here to film the Hollywood classic, Robin Hood. This jewel of a park extends many miles up into a rugged canyon. There are facilities for swimming, biking, horseback riding and hiking.

Enter the park and cross the creek. At the paved road go the wrong way until you find the first path to the left for those with steel shoes. Trot on through a four-way junction. When you meet the wider path, go left then right. Just past 1790, take the gravel trail to the right until it ends in a T with a paved road. Go left and while partaking of the bubbling waters, look to your right. You will be gazing directly at the home of the letterbox. It lives at the feet of the this lofty denizen of Sherwood Forest.
