***Missing***
This letterbox is at the Gateway Desert Awareness Park in Cave Creek, and close to Carefree! It's a short walk, and dogs are ok.
Directions: From Cave Creek Road, turn north onto Vermeersch (38000 N.). Gateway Desert Awareness Park is at this dead end.
Clues: Make your way to the Heritage Center - the big round shelter at the dead end. Follow the paved path around back of the center, and take the dirt Saguaro Trail, at the Velvet Mesquite Tree. After the Pack Rat Nest, turn take the left fork, and on past the nice bench. Stop at the Desert Mistletoe. From the Turpentine Brush, find the Palo Verde Tree at 215 degrees. The box is waiting at the base of this tree. Please be discreet and rehide well, so it can't be seen from the trail.
