When you are visiting the center of the universe, stop by Carter Park to pick a picture of one of the many residents of this park.
From I95, take exit 92 (Rt. 54 west). Go about 1/2 mile, take a left on Washington Highway (Rt. 1). Go about 1 mile, take a right on Ashcake Road (Rt. 657). Go 3/4 mile, take right on Maple St. Carter Park is on left.
Start at playground.
Head north.
Head east on gravel driveway.
Take left on gravel pathway.
At fork, take left.
Trail opens to field on left.
Walking into open area, keep fence on your left.
From SW corner of fence, take trail going into woods at 270 degrees.
Ignore small trail to left.
At T, take left.
When you exit woods, take a right.
Continue a short distance and take the trail going back into woods on your right.
Cross bridge.
At fork, take left.
As you walk on this trail, there will be an open area on your right where there are two trees.
From these two trees, take about 32 steps.
Look to right for a large tree.
On opposite side of this tree, under some wood, is the squirrel box.
