Difficutly: Easy
Distance to Min-box: About 200 yards one-way.
Status of Mini-box: Alive and well on 10/01/06 (wet)
The Sylvester mini-box is another in my Looney Toon series. It is located in a small birding park on Galveston Island, west beach area.
Directions:
From 61st street, go west on the seawall road for about 11 miles until you reach 11 mile road. Go past this road to the next street light and turn right. When you reach Stewart rd turn right again, and then left on Eckert. Go to the trail head sign on your right and park in small parking area.
To the Mini-box:
Walk along the boardwalk, then the sidewalk, past the lake and gazzebo on your left until you reach a trail junction. Go left. At next junction go right, and find the "Live Oak" sign. From this sign, go to the line of live oak trees directly behind the sign (about 20 yards away). Box is on the right side of the 3rd tree (in the row)under leaves. Please re-cover it well.
