The "Blow off" letterbox is hidden in Ester, south of Fairbanks... Directions to Ester (from Fairbanks): Take the George Parks Highway south from Fairbanks. This is the highway to Anchorage. Go 5 miles, turn right onto the Old Nenana Hwy, On the corner is the Ester Fire Station. Take a right onto Village Rd. Pass the Ester Post Office on your left. The road comes to a T junction. Turn Left into the Ester Gold Camp. Directions to the Blow off letterbox: Stand in the main parking lot of Malemute Saloon. When facing the saloon there is a building on your right (south side of parking lot). A few yards to the right of the shop you will see an old boiler furnace. On this furnace there were 3 doors. Two of them have fallen off. Below the painted words "Front 3S9" is an opening where one of the doors once was... This opening contains several long and deep chambers. The letterbox is hidden deep in the chamber to the farthest right. This was once a popular tourist destination but is now closed and for sale. Luckily, they left a convenient picnic table!
