2008- This box has been re-carved but has not been replanted. It visited a gathering in April 2007 but is still located on the mainland for the time being. Eventually it will head back to the islands.

10/24/05 - Box appears to have floated away. A non-boxer found the lid at another beach. Will work on a replacement. Out of State so this may take some time to find someone to re-hide once it is carved again.

Special Notes: My love and I were married on June 26, 2005 at the small-secluded white sand beach located in front of Mama’s Fish House. The “Ke Aloha Maika’i – Love is Good” Letterbox was placed just after our ceremony at the beach. The beach is often referred to as the Mama’s Fish House Beach and is located on Maui’s North Shore. Mama’s Fish House is an exceptional five star restaurant and we celebrated our union by having our reception there. You can call for reservations at (808) 579-8488 or log on to their website at www.mamasfishhouse.com to view their menu.

Directions: The address to Mama’s Fish House is 799 Poho Place, Paia, Maui.

Clues: Once you have parked in the parking lot overlooking Mama’s Fish House and the beach below head down the path to the beach. Facing the ocean head to the rocks to your right. Once you have reached the rocks take approximately 26 steps or 13 paces following along the rocks and hugging the cliff wall. Be careful, as the rocks can be slippery. Stop and face the cliff wall. Between knee height and thigh height the box is hidden behind some smaller stones in the cliff wall.

Enjoy your visit to Mama’s Fish House beach. Should you note the box missing, it’s contents in bad repair or if you just want to say “hi” please contace me at Blackvelvetrav@yahoo.com. Aloha and happy hunting!
