This box was placed in honor of Ray & Yvonne’s 40th wedding anniversary. Congratulations on 40 years!!!

This box is located within the Sandusky Park District’s Wolf Creek Park. Wolf Creek Park is located on Route 53, just south of Fremont, Ohio. The park has two separate park areas. For this box, you will need to find the park area that has the “Nature Trail,” so named by the Wolf Creek Park maps.

Once you have arrived at the correct park entrance, proceed to the gravel parking lot on your right hand side. Be sure to read and abide by all signs in the park, you don’t want to find a gift on your car – a $100 fine for parking in the wrong area wouldn’t be a very good one to receive. After parking, grab your stamp pad, stamp and pen/pencil – Let the hunt begin!

Make your way to the “Nature Trail” – you passed it on your way into the park. Take the path that would be in the heat. You will pass many signs on the trail. Be sure to read about the plants, animals and people who have come to the river. Continuing down the trail, you will come to a fork in your path. Choose the path that leads into a deeper part of the surrounding nature.

Hopefully, you are reading the signs – or at least keeping track of how many you have passed. You need find the sign that would correspond to the month of July. Continue along the path until you reach the 3rd sign. Pause here and learn about the “animal highways” found in nature. You’re getting there, but there are a few more signs before you reach the bliss of your final destination. When you see a bench, take a seat, rest, and enjoy the sights of the river and the trees. The next leg of your journey is not long.

Once you reach the sign you’ve been looking for, turn ‘65 degrees and walk 40 paces (2 steps = 1 pace) along the path. On your right, you will see a family of trees – 2 larger trees and 3 baby trees between them - just off the trail. The box waits here for your hand. Remember the bench where you rested? Relax here as you stamp. Please try not to disturb the living nature surrounding the box and re-hide it carefully. Enjoy the rest of the trail – it loops back to the parking lot.
