Note: Due to the low-lying nature of this park, some trails get closed at times due to high water. Call ahead if the weather's been wet.
Stand on one oak between the bosses' spots, and count all the others (oaks, not bosses!).
Stroll past the seven balls and count the other trees.
Multiply these two numbers, and remember the answer for later.
Hike around the Transco and Marsh Discovery trails and take note of three Distant Objects. From the center bench near where these trails meet, sight 143* to see D.O. #1. From Observation Area 3, look out the 2nd window at 132* for D.O. #2. To find D.O. #3, look out the 3rd window of Observation Area 1 at 127*.
Beside another trail you will be encouraged to look at these same D.O.s again, with #1 at 160*, #2 at 148* and #3 at 125*. From this point on the trail, take the path at 250* for 53 paces.
On your right there will be a tree with a bat box. With your back to this bat tree, set your compass to the number you remember.
Scramble up over the loose rocks (be careful!) to find the letterbox in a rock cairn behind the double pear tree.
