Update: new container- 11/27/05. Stamp is in good shape.
This box is part of a series planned by different Houston-area boxers dubbed the Boxing Break Coffee Klatch Series.
When out boxing, we boxers get hungry and thirsty and caffeine-depleted. We need to recharge our batteries. So, what better place to stop than a great coffee house with a box hidden on its grounds (groany pun).
The Daily Grind is a coffee house/restaurant inside a refurbished old building. It is open continuously for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition to food and coffee, they offer a great beer selection. We recommend the waffle, the migas (get a half order), the eggs florentine and the jalapeno cheese grits. Their cheeseburger is pretty good, too.
The Daily Grind is on Washington Ave., just south of I-10, between Shepherd and Yale on the south side of the street. (From I-10, take the Shepherd/Durham exit, go south on Durham and turn left on Washington). Parking can be a bit of a problem. There is a small lot. However, you can park on Washington Ave. any day after 9 am and all day Sunday. Or, you can do what one area boxer does--ride your bike!
Clues:
Find the handicapped parking space. One space to the right, behind the yellow parking stop is a piece of concrete. The minibox is hiding under this piece of concrete. We recommend stamping in in your car or on the deck. Then, go in and get yourself a java jolt!
