Take Exit 12 off Rt. 6 and head south on 6A toward Nickerson State Park.
After turning into the Park, drive for 0.3 miles to a left turn for Area 5, Jack’s Boat Rental and the boat ramp.
After turning, you will pass a pond on your left, Area 5 on the right, the road to Jack’s Boat Rental on the right and a school where young people can learn about the woods.
Continue all the way until this road dead ends into a parking lot.
After parking, stand at the sign that says No Parking and take a compass reading of 5º, which will point you to the path at the northeast end of the parking lot. The path is called Little Cliff Pond Trail.
Hike this path about 10 minutes through the woods with Little Cliff Pond on the right. You will hike on descending steps created by tree roots and see a trail branch at 190º. Do not turn off the main path. Continue straight until you see a tree in the middle of the trail. Take about 8 or 9 adult paces forward from this tree and look down at the path to see that X marks the spot to stop.
The clump of trees and stumps at 180º on your right holds the box at its base.
After stamping, be sure to return the box and cover it well.
