Just say, "We've gone to the beach". Travelers between Eugene and Florence generally travel on route 126. If you travel West and well past mile post 27 there is a popular stopping place with a sign that reads, LINSLAW BOAT RAMP.
For a letterbox, first find the sign closest to the boat ramp that all dog owners should read and heed. Fifteen paces behind and somewhat to the left is a big maple trunk with three or four tall arms. Try going behind; see what you will find. Not on the "plowed" ground, but safely above.
Enjoy your travels. Perhaps you'll find some "fun in the sun".
