Originally planted by moCat and adopted in April 2008 by wvelliots.

Find the Western Hemisphere's longest arch bridge going over the 2nd oldest river in the world.

From the north side of the bridge, follow the signs to the restaurant named for the fire bear.

Behind the restaurant, lies the trail to the scenic overlook. Stop at the sign that says "Caution Uneven Steps." Look left. See the Hemlock tree about 2 steps off the path? See the fallen log right next to it? Look inside the end of the log nearest its stump. Check for critters first!

Take the letterbox on down the trail to the wooden platformed overlook to enjoy a spectacular view while stamping you logbook. Hang on tightly to the children! The trail is short but it really does have uneven steps and dangerous cliffs.

After re-hiding the letterbox, stop in at the Visitor Center near the bridge to learn more about this beautiful area of the country! Please contact us and let us know what you thought of it!
