The 10-month siege of Petersburg precipitated the end of the War Between the States, but the city also played significant roles in the American Revolution and the Civil Rights struggle of the 1960s. While in Petersburg, be sure to visit Blandford Church, Centre Hill Mansion, and Petersburg National Battlefield Park.

After you find the box, enter the Visitor Center to get information on the many other attractions in Petersburg. This is the first in a planned series of boxes at each major Petersburg attraction. We hope to base the series on the Petersburg walking tour map available at the visitor center. This is a great historic town with a lot to offer. Come spend some time here!
Fair warning - Old Town Petersburg rolls up the sidewalks on Sunday, so Saturday (Farmer's Market in season) or during the week is your best bet for visiting the historic sites, antiquing, and taking in some local color. Also, most restaurants in the downtown area are closed on Sunday and Monday.
