This is a Four Box Series that is about 1 mile long and very easy to walk. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WAIVER BEFORE STARTING!
Box#1
At the center lights in Wilmington (there is only one set of lights in this town) take Rt 9 East. Take Beaver St. (your first left after the library) and follow the road until you reach the recycling bins. The tennis courts will be directly behind these bins. Go into the tennis courts and stand between the nets facing the door you just walked through. Consider the door to be North. Find the telephone pole at the southwest side of the courts. Go outside through the door and around to the southwest pole. Here under rocks you will find Wilmington Summer Rec. Box #1
Box #2
From Rec. Box #1 walk on the path behind the tennis courts and next to the Deerfield River. This path will lead you down to Buzzy Towne Park. Take some time out to have FUN. Swing on the swings. Shoot some hoops or practice your skills at skateboarding. When you are done "walking your dog" take 50 grown-up or 57 kid paces past the basketball hoop straight towards the yellow house. If you reach a garden you've gone to far. Under a prickly pine and some rocks you will find Wilmington Summer Rec. Box #2
Box #3
From Buzzy Towne Park take a left onto South Main St. and then take your first right onto Shafter St. Once on Shafter St. take your second left after the old Deerfield Valley Supply (big red building). You will see a fork in the road at Mill St. Take the right. (it will loop around) At the second "RED" water source follow the path to the river. At the base of the maple with two neighboring maples accross from the "Black Gold", under logs and rocks you will find Wilmington Summer Rec. Box #3
Box #4
Follow the road back to South Main St. past the entrace of Buzzy Towne Park and take your first right onto Beaver St. Go past the Fire Department (BE CAREFULL OF CARS! Stay on the right hand side of the road until you get to the end of the stone wall that is on the left side of the road.) Once you're around the corner cross the street and walk behind the building. Look behind the telephone pole on your left in between the building and the covered rock wall. Behind the telephone pole and under some rocks you will find Wilmington Rec. Box #4
Durring the Farmers Day Fair the barn behind you is full of these!
We hope you enjoyed your boxing! All of our stamps were hand made by the campers from just using craft foam, siccors, glue and a little imagination!
