1. What is the name of Colin Creevy’s younger brother? This is the name of the pond to which you need to go.

2. What was planted because Remus Lupin came to Hogwarts? Take the adjective off and this is one of the roads the pond is on. You are not parking on this road, though.

3. Find how many words into the first book the place where Mr. Dursley works is mentioned (including the place.)

4. Multiply the platform number where the Harry gets on the Hogwarts Express by the number of the book where Harry needs gillyweed. Add to this the age that Harry Potter turned in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. If you did this correctly, you should get the same number as you got in question 3.

Park on the street named after the season when Harry was born. Find the emerald sign that marks the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. Remember when Harry had to enter the forest to find who was hurting the unicorns? You can bring Fang along, but he’ll be more scared than you are. And please clean up after him.

Head towards the left and step over the rock going into the dense forest. Many sinister things may lurk in this forest, but as far as we could see poison ivy wasn’t one of them. The path will widen and you will pass the first opening to the pond. This one is by a spindly tree in the middle of the path with a large submerged boulder to the left. Head uphill. After you trip over the rock in the center of the path, look for the boulder on the left. Viewed at the right angle, it resembles the head of a turtle. Shortly after that, you will come across the second opening to the pond. Go uphill again and you will see a tree in the center of the path whose trunks number the same as the book in which we meet Buckbeak. You may wish you had the hippogriff with you now as you get deeper into the Forbidden Forest.

Keep going past the opening to the pond by the many trunked tree. Notice you can look out and see the mystical white rock in the water. It is a haven for the unicorns in the forest. See any? You can watch for them, but you may be sensing now that you are close to the treasure. Walk past the tree in the middle of the path whose trunks number the same as the Dursley’s house number less one. Well, that is, if you don’t include the skinny, short trunk on the right. Look for the tree jutting well into the path that resembles Harry’s arm after Gilderoy Lockhart “fixes” it. From this tree, walk the same number of steps as the answer to questions 3 and 4. This will bring you to another opening to the pond, this one marked by 3 rocks near the path. Again, walk the number of steps in questions 3 and 4 and look to the left. Before the tree shaped like Nagini's tongue, in the hollow log under some bark is the object of your quest. Certainly anyone brave enough to be in Gryffindor would have no problem reaching in to get it.

Make sure to re-hide well. Fluffy now lurks in the Forbidden Forest and does not look kindly on those who leave letterboxes out in the open.
