I have not been able to confirm reports yet, but it sounds like most of these boxes are missing. I will check on them ASAP and update once I know their status. Hunt at your own risk! ;-) April 2006

The Shakespeare in the Park letterbox series is located in Centennial Park in Nashville, Tennessee. There are five boxes, and there's no particular order in which they need to be found.

Box 1 - Shakespeare in the Park

Find the epitaph dedicated to a famous Nashville citizen:
A worthy man in all the lines of life
An efficient man of affairs
An upright and eminent citizen
A Christian and a gentleman
A friend and a brother
From this point, let wisdom guide your steps rightly.

Box 2 - All the World's a Stage

Find N.C. & ST L. 576, and stand directly in front of it.
At ten degrees, spy a bench. Take a seat in the widest spot.
Now line up 90 degrees, and walk over to the hexagon.
From here, take a bearing of ten degrees. See the bench?
Take a seat, and reach behind and under.
*Rehide this one carefully, so that the landscapers cannot spy the box from behind.

Box 3 - Hamlet

Locate the Children's Memorial Garden.
Find the center, and take the only available seat.
The box is under a stone on the left.

Box 4 - Twelfth Night

Mount ten steps onto a patriotic prow.
From this vantage point, locate 4 urns.
The box is near the base of the southernmost.

Box 5 - A Midsummer Night's Dream

Stand atop the small bridge that arches over smoothed river rocks. Find 260 degrees by the compass, and walk directly into the rocky alcove you spy. A little to the left, halfway behind the shrub, up and in.

This is a very busy park, so it goes without saying that discretion is necessary. Rehide with care so that the landscapers don't do away with our efforts! Bring your own ink and pen. The Parthenon is majestic and the gardens are beautiful, so bring a camera! There's a very nice playground as well, so bring the kids.

Happy Hunting,
She Who Plants
