The first trick is to find your way to Reklaw, Texas!

Reklaw is at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and State Highway 204. It's actually on the Cherokee-Rusk County border.

Reklaw is a little country town that has been settled since the Republic of Texas period. It enjoyed brief prosperity during the 1860s during an Iron Rush, and another even briefer rush in 1890. Hence the name of the box...

Like so many Texas communities, Reklaw's survival depended on the location of the railroad. Luckily for Reklaw, the Texas and New Orleans Railroad laid track through the area and a town was born! Ms. Margaret L Walker generously donated the land for the township and the citizens responded by wanting to name the town after her - Walker. Unfortunately, there was already a Texas town named Walker so they were stumped. They got creative - and turned Walker around and so Reklaw was born. (I still wonder why they didn't just go with Margaret, but apparently the answer to that question will never be known...)

When you get to Reklaw, watch for the Post Office. Loop 209 (don't let it fool ya - this ain't no citified loop!) turns across from the Post Office. Take the loop and continue along it until you see CR 4326 to the right. Turn along this little road and park - you should see an old boarded up store on one side of the road and a little fenced in park on the other. On the fence around the park, a sign hangs proudly - announcing that you have just arrived at the Reklaw Community Park!

The park can be entered through any of four gaps in the corners of the fence - openings. Go to the gap on the northern end of the park and closest to the road. Stand in it, facing away from the park. Look to your right and across the road. You will see what looks like from that angle to be a row of large trees. Each tree is surrounded by smaller trees and bushes to make little groves of trees. Cross on over to the other side of the street and find your way between the first grove closest to the road and the second grove. Look at the base of the first grove of trees at the base to find the box covered with straw and sticks.

This is NOT a high traffic area! We stood around for about 20 minutes in the middle of downtown Reklaw on a Saturday morning, surveying the location for placement and clues and saw nary a soul. Even stood in the middle of the road for about half of that time and never had to move...

As with any letterbox, please, please rehide it better than you found it!
