Across from 1230 Soldiers Field Rd. is a large parking lot. You can park here dusk till dawn. Once parked, stand with the Charles River in front of you and Soldiers field Rd. to your back. Walk to the far right of the parking lot. You will see a large windmill off in the distance. Make your way around the fence till you are standing behind the windmill on the paved path. With the windmill on your left, follow the path to the boardwalk. Keeping the river on your left (heading down stream), walk to the end of the boardwalk. Standing where the boardwalk meets the paved path, then count off 97 casual steps. You should see a light pole on your left. To the left of the light pole, follow the dirt path keeping the river on your left (down stream). As you walk you will pass below a weeping willow. Keep walking the dirt path till you reach a wooden dock. Step over the wooden walkway so you’re just a few steps past it and out of the way of any one that may be there. Keeping the river on your left, look to your right for a cement light pole. Stand directly below this light pole and look up. You should see the #5. Counting this pole as number one walk ahead to the 5th light pole, keeping the river on your left. Stand next to the 5th light pole then look to your left. You will see a green park bench. Walk to the dirt path in front of this bench. Looking down this path heading down stream, walk to a cluster of 9 white breech trees. From these trees walk 25 casual steps to a small opening in the shrubs. Look across the river for a black cast iron fence. Make your way to the fence without passing through any dark passageways. Don’t forget to enjoy nature along the way. Once at the black cast iron fence, stand at the opening in the fence with the river on your right. Look to your left for an old bike rack. Walk to the bike rack then follow the paved path past the broken bench. As your rounding the bend keep your eyes open for 2 large cement blocks. Facing the 2 blocks make sure nobody is watching, then look behind the block to your right. Move the wooden bark to find the Red Fox letter box. As you sign in be alert you could see a Red Fox in the woods behind you.
