Strouds Run State Park

Difficulty: Fairly easy
Terrain: Slightly hilly
Please bring your stamp, a stamp pad, pen and an old rag to wipe off the box/your hands. Bug repellant might come in handy during the summer months.
From Athens head east on U.S. 50 ~ 5 miles to H.W. 690 which takes off left to Strouds Run Park. Go a ways on 690 and look for a smallish sign on the right pointing left to turn onto CR20 and continue on to Strouds Run Park. When you reach the signs pointing to the right to go to the park office and camping go right and note your odometer. between 1/10 and 2/10 mile further look over the bank to the right to a unique home with unique yard ornaments. humm Continue following the Park signs to the Boat launch ramp and Beach. Turn left into the boat launch and beach area passing both and continue on to the concrete bridge and the "No Outlet Sign". Park here and head back in the holler opposite the lake. At the back of the hollow you will find a trail head so get on it and lets see where it goes. After passing the bridge start counting steps. Pass though the fallen trees and when you get to 46 steps look right up on the bank and you should see a tree with a large knob on the bottom. My Buddy's Dream is in a hole in the tree base under broken limbs. Discretely retrieve it, stamp in and reseal the baggies well to preserve the log and replace the box concealed well. back to the path and on up the trail to "My Buddies Letterboxing Shoe".
