DIRECTIONS

Go to Worcester
Rte 290
Exit 12 College St. / College of the Holy Cross
Go up hill, pass new baseball stadium-Fitton Field- home of the Worcester Tornadoes and Holy Cross on your left.
Just after the Holy Cross fence ends, there is a green sign on your left that says " COOKSON FIELD". It points to a very short street on your right. Turn right onto this tiny street.
Park car at the end of this itty bitty street,( there's a building on the right that has some beautiful locally-made mosaics ). Path starts at boulders.
You can immediately spot a brown sign on the left that says, " MAIN LOOP TRAIL". Take a left onto this path and follow the blue dotted trees up the hill and over the rocky top. In July and August low blueberry bushes are ripe.
As you descend there is fork in the path. Bear right down the hill until you see five dirt paths meet.
Stand in the center of the insection of the paths. Turn in a slow circle and you will see a blue Barkman carved into an Oak Tree. Behind that treeman is a rockpile hiding this letterbox.
Just past the insection you can spy an old basball field. If you take the right-hand path, look to your left and you will see a wonderful view of the city and the hills beyond. I'm sorry to say the tire swing has been taken down in the past month.
Perhaps an enterprising someone will hand another before the summer is out,...
