These letterboxes were inspired by Proverbs 30:24-28. They can be found on the South River Falls Trail which begins from the South River Picnic Area which is between Mile posts 62 & 63 on Skyline Drive. The hike itself is 3.3 miles roundtrip.

Begin your search for things wise & small
By taking the trail to South River Falls.

Follow the path to the AT Sign
Look staight ahead don't look behind.
See some logs in a jumble
There's no reason to grumble
6 steps past the post 4 feet off the trail
You'll find (I hope) the box without fail
Hidden beneath the big log & some rocks
A few feet away is the Ant's letterbox.

Now keep moving on, keep walking, don't stop.
At the 2nd switchback is a corner with rocks.
NOW stop and turn back 9 steps up the trail
On the left see a tree that long ago fell.
Behind the root ball a few feet away
Is a jumble of rocks. Search them today.
Hidden back there 'neath those old rocks
You'll find the rock badger's letterbox.

Now go back to the trail and keep walking down.
Cross the river on rocks and then look around.
See up ahead a knobby old tree
Walk to it, turn left, look, & you'll see
A triangular boulder that points to the sky
Behind it 2 huge rocks lie side by side.
Between the 2 rocks down underneath
The locust is waiting under some leaves.

Now hurry on down and enjoy the view
From the rock walled platform a minute or two.
Climb over the wall to the right rocky ledge
Climb over and carefully look o'er the edge.
The small bush growing out of the rock
3 feet from the wall hides the lizard's box.
Reach over the edge carefully now
At the foot of the bush you'll find it somehow.

Hope your lesson in wisdom was lots of fun.
Learn from the small things but be glad you're done.
