*** We have received extremely credible reports that this box is gone. The statue has been moved and the entire area where the box was located was flooded by Hurricane Ernesto for an extended period of time. We do not have any current plans to replace it. ****

On July 29, 1997, a statue of Misty was presented to the people of the Island of Chincoteague. The statue was placed in "The Thicket." (It has since been moved downtown.) Stand where the commorative plaque used to be located, facing away from the street. Go west 24 paces to the edge of the thicket (a small detour around a shrub may be necessary). A small tree/shrub has a trunk leaning sharply to the left towards the road. Look underneath that trunk. The stamp was carved by b#2 when he was 6 years old, in case that matters.

Please be discrete and rehide well. This location is open to passing traffic and well visited, so you might want to stamp in your car. We would love any updates on the condition of the box, and any maintenance help would be much appreciated as this box was placed during a vacation trip.
