NEW CLUES, new location as of spring 2007
Oyster Letterbox
Level of Difficulty:easy, very short 'walk'.
Need:you will need two markers, a light blue and a dark blue
Driving on the old island highway between Union Bay and Courtenay find the "Hilton", do not colour any "Paas" easter eggs. Continue down the "Hilton" until you reach a parking area.
From here is a spectacular view across to Comox and Goose Spit. You will notice old pilings and a wreck or two in the bay. Also depending on the time of year you maybe blessed with the seeing many Trumpeteer swans as they migrate through this area.
Enjoy the sites, if the wind is blowing this is a spectacular place. Notice the blue box hanging on a pole. From here take 120 paces along the trail. On your your right you shall notice a nurse stump with "Huckleberry Finn" growing out. Along the ground is mossy debris, the oyster is hiding. Please be discreet and also check if location is still secure. There may be erosion occuring from beneath. Replace where you found. Thank you.
