***Bring your own ink pad and pen!***

You'll need to find your way to Amazon Pool and Park, parking in the big lot around 27th and Hilyard. You want to park as close to the south end of the lot as possible. Instead of heading toward the building and pool complex, look for a cement path at the south end of the lot leading into the park.

The path will take you down into an open space and you'll notice a weeping tree on your left and large monoliths on your right. Keep walking and look for the graffiti bowl; you'll notice this is a busy crossroads.

Notice the bridge but do not cross it. Face the bridge and look to the chain-link on the left, there are two small trees growing side by side. There is cement under that fence, and at the very southern-most end (your left) has a large gap underneath it. The letterbox should be tucked in deeply under the crack, slightly right of the very end. You'll need a good, sturdy stick to dislodge it.

FIELD TRIP:
You can venture across the Amazon Creek on the bridge and take a look at the thriving Ash Trees on the other side. The paths that run through the trees are a favorite of local walkers, runners, and bikers. Incidentally, students from South Eugene Environmental Club worked with local Native American elders to name the place "Ma-Lik", which translates into "Ash Tree Grove" as a tribute to the trees' ancient legacy.
DOG PEOPLE:
The off-leash dog park is just across the bridge as well!

URBAN BOX TIP:
Amazon Park is a wildly popular park, especially during the height of summer. This is a very difficult park to plant a letterbox in and I was somewhat limited in options. Please be aware of people in the area and don't jeapordize the box. I actually sat down by the cement itself to plant the box, which gave me a good "cover" if a passerby came along. If skaters were there I couldn't have placed it at all.
