So glad to be able to bring this letterbox out of retirement. We found a good place on Tubbs Hill in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. So find your way to Tubbs Hill and prepare for a wonderful hike/walk in a beautiful area. You will need to travel along I-90 to the town of Coeur d' Alene. Take exit 15 and travel west along Sherman Avenue to 10th street or 3rd street. Then travel south on either of these streets to the parking areas.

There is a Main Trail that goes around Tubbs as well as many other secondary trails. At the Trailheads, one at 3rd street and one at 10th street, there is a map showing the trail system and also numbered points of interest. Hike the Main Trail around Tubbs. You are looking for marker 22. As you hike you will no doubt enjoy wonderful views of the lake. You may find a couple of foot bridges, one that swings and even some stairs. However you decide to make the journey, After finding marker 22, look for a secondary trail that comes into the Main Trail from the south. This smaller trail is west of marker 22. Travel up this smaller trail approximately 70 feet until you come to a large rock. The trail goes right by it. While standing on the rock, face the limited view of the city below. Look for the spire in amongst the tree tops. After locating the spire stand with your back to it. Now, Look to your left and see the second large rock below your position. Find the letterbox under the spire side of this large moss covered rock.
There is no need to look under any moss. So please do not lift or disturb the moss in any way.
Also, Tubbs is a high trafficed area. Lot's of people enjoy hiking here. Please, Watch for others before retrieving and replacing this letterbox.

Hope you enjoy the hunt and the area.
God Bless. ~Sondog
