Park at the intersection of Branch St. & Century Ave (either on the street on Branch St, or in the Branch Street Retreat Bar parking lot on the corner) in Middleton, WI.
Your hike will take about 1 hour round trip. (Probably much faster via bike)
Start your hike onto the Branch Creek Conservancy Trail heading South on the gravel path (stay on the bar side of Century Ave.)
Once on the path, watch the trees along side you closely. You will notice a few small plaques located on some special trees.
Keeping a keen eye, you will locate a large Black Walnut on your right. The plaque on the tree will bear the #4, as well as a little info on the tree.
Continue on the path to find an enormous Eastern Cottonwood with plaque #3, You’re on the right track. Almost there!
Just a little farther up the path you will discover the Populous grandidentata (The Bigtooth Aspen) with plaque #2. This is the spot. Standing on the trail and facing the tree you will see another Bigtooth just back and to the right of the marked tree. Just behind this tree, at its base, you will find the letterbox.
