Famous Faces From Wisconsin Series: Just a Good Ol’ Boy
This letterbox involves extreme heights and drop offs. Watch children at all times.
Travel to the county park about five miles northwest of Tom Wopat’s birthplace. Park in the lot. A dirt trail is flanked by two boulders…head on up. Soon the dirt trail turns to an old road…keep going up. Eventually you will be on a narrow paved path. Stay on it until it becomes dirt, leaving you standing on the edge of the cliff with a great view. This view is framed by two gnarled trees. A large rock appears to be slipping through the cracks in front of you. Turn around and walk back to the top of the hill. Follow along the path to your right. At 115 degrees spot the two trees “duking” it out on the edge of the cliff. You don’t want to get caught in the middle of that. Better stay left on the high ground until you spot “two brothers”. From the “two brothers” take 40 paces ahead following the path into the woods. Find this “Good Ol’ Boy at 120 degrees wedged between the boulder closest to you and the shorter boulder. Have fun!
