Mina Sauk Falls is Missouri’s highest waterfall. Located a couple miles down trail from Taum Sauk Mountain (Missouri’s highest point), Mina Sauk Falls is a beautiful place. Don’t forget to look for the LB near the highest point. While at Mina Sauk you may want to trot another mile down the trail to Devil’s Toll gate.

To find the Main Sauk LB take the trail from the parking lot until it splits. Take the trail to the right. Stop along the way and enjoy the views of the St Francis Mountains and the open glade. When you’re almost to the falls you’ll find a sign that says ‘Mina Sauk falls 100 ft., Devil’s Toll gate 1 MI, Johnson Shut ins 11.5 MI’. From this sign go roughly 21 paces (that’s two steps) on a bearing of 55˚. You’ll find a dead tree that snapped off at about 10 feet high. Its top lays on the ground with the snapped end near the old standing trunk. The LB is hidden in the end nearest the trunk. As always, watch for critters.

As always, please be discrete in your LB activities and prudent in your re-hideation. Remember, only you can prevent Improper Re-Hideation.

Please contact me once you’ve found this LB to let me know of its condition. Thanks!
