***Please note a change to the clues and location as of 6/11/2015***

The location of this box is was cleared due to the pine beetle. This box was replanted June 5th, 2009 off the same trail it was originally planted on, however in a different location. See the changes in the clues below.

This letterbox is placed in honor of the grand place that we stay when we come up to Breckenridge.
To find the box, find the trail off of Hwy 9 between Frisco and Breckenridge that is part of the Colorado Trail. The trailhead sign for this "precious metal" Hill hike lists distances to a few nearby locations but you won't have to travel that far. Starting up the hill, you will see a pile of rocks at about 120 paces on the right side of the trail. This was the most recent home of the "Grand Timber Letterbox" as the original home was hard to find due to the massive tree cutting at the top of the trail removing the landmarks that were referenced in the original clue.
Continue up the trail to an area that is nearly clear and where the trail has leveled out. As the trail starts to head NW at 230 degrees look for an interesting stump shown in the photo attached. Just behind this stump, you will find another smaller stump with a SPOR on it's backside. I wonder what you may find there??? Please also stamp in at a different location at the top of the hill or back in the lot and not at the location of the hiding place due to the hiking and biking traffic.

Please re-hide better than you found it and let me know of it's status. Please be sure to take a black ink pad or marker for stamping. If you wish to color the stamp in on the trail, you will also need green, yellow, orange, and purple. This box includes a log book, hand carved stamp, and first finder certificate. I don't think you will be disappointed! Please let me know the status of the box if you have a chance. Thank you!
