From the city of Cazenovia, proceed east on Route 20. As you leave town you will go up a hill on the 4 lane highway.Turn right onto Stone Quarry Road, about 3/4 of the way up the hill. Continue south past the Art Park, at the Balina Rd intersection (you will see a lumber mill on your left) the road changes name even though you continue straight on the same road. The new name is Constainte Bridge. The Nelson Unique Area will be on you left and is marked by a NYS sign.
Inside the free parking area you will see the trail sign and map. A little ways down you will notice a gate with a stop sign on it preventing vehicle traffic. The trail (which is handdicap accessible) is basically a loop so you can start out straight or take the path to the right, they eventually connect.The trail is well marked with interesting explanation pictorials of the history of the area.
The letterbox is located on the part of the trail next to the brook and overlook.While standing on the overlook with your back to the water look for the 4 trees to your left, on the other side of the trail, the letterbox is behind the trunks.
