"Park Pest" Letterbox
Status of Letterbox: GONE MISSING
The "Park Pest" letterbox is located in Buescher State Park. The
park contains the "lost pines", an isolated grove of loblolly pines
separated from the main body in East Texas. The park has camping,
fishing, recreation hall, swimming, hiking trails and a golf course.
This park connects with Bastrop State Park via Park Road 1.
Directions:
>From Austin, take Hwy 71 to Hwy 153, go left to the park entrance.
Obtain a park map, and drive right on Park Road 1E to the Recreation
Hall parking.
To The Letterbox:
Start on the right side of the Recreation Hall at the silver propane
tank. From here, go downhill on a semi-path heading west at 280
degrees for about 30 yards. You will reach a large pine tree on your
right. From that tree, locate the pine tree about 10 yards away at
320 degrees (northwest). The box is at the base of this tree,
covered by leaves and limbs.
