By River ; (Yadkin) use the Yadkin River Trail Access map and start from the natural patio.
By Land; Drive up to the Arbor and park. Trail starts on the left of the Arbor. Start your descent toward the river. At first an easy walk, then 72 steps to the caves. Have fun exploring the caves. Going on down 17 steps more you can play on a "natural patio" at the rivers edge. Back up to the path by the old rock steps, continue from here 30 paces westward. Then take the left most path for 16 paces - stop. Look 100 degrees to a living,
leaning, beech tree that you can see through - there at its base you will find the Boone's Cave letterbox.

After replacing Boone's Cave LB, return to the trail and continue on. You will pass under an arch, then turn left, here the trail is old with rock steps and very steep. This will bring you to Boone's Cabin (reproduction circa 1960). Stand between the 2 front doors, continue 120 degrees for 100 paces, then 225 degrees for 30 paces to a hollow tree.

After replacing Boone's Cabin letterbox, continue the loop on the roadbed back to the entrance to the park. As you enter the park you will see a huge arrowhead. From there head 145 degrees for 14 paces. Then turn 230 degrees for 32 paces. Then turn 280 degrees for 10 paces to a stump. In the stump's hollow detachment you should find a collage of a stamp. Each cub scout did a wonderful job on a 4 part stamp.
