This box was checked on 6/21/2009 and was being used.

Bellfountain Park has something from the past,
something that will last and last.

It's a bit out of the way, but it's a great place for reunions, weddings, picnics, and etc. Complete with water, garbage, flush toilets, play equipment area, ballfield, horseshoe pits, trails, a cooking area, an eating area and one very special feature: You can discover something long which was made in the past.

To get there, start by using highway 99 West. From Corvallis, go South 14 miles and turn West on Dawson Road. It's three miles to Bellfountain and another mile to the park which is on a hill.

From Eugene, drive North to Junction City, get on highway 99 West, and drive to Monroe. 3.5 miles past Monroe, you will find Dawson Road and just follow the above directions.

Want to try a "Box Score"?
It's a hit down third base line! It's fair, but now rolling onto and up the road. Oh no! What a bounce! Now it's on a gravel road and still rolling. Look at that; it's gone between three barrier posts and is on a trail. Sixty feet beyond the posts, it bounces right and stops behind a big fir tree. What a hit!

Before you leave the park, be sure to read the plaque on the North end of the shelter table. Also, people who want a "living history" clue should use their search engine for the topic: hull oakes sawmill.

Thanks for your time. We hope you made a good discovery.
