His son, William (his only child born in Menlo Park), left the land to the state of New Jersey. There are no Palm Trees here.
Park at the Information Trail NW of the tower, or if you are Inventive, you will think of a short-cut.
Where the trail turns sharply South at a stream, go West down into the mud. You have gone too far if you cross an 8' long bridge.
Forge the stream. Climb 38 steps above the stream. There is a large tree NW. In the NW corner of the large tree, under a concrete block, is the grasshopper. Be sure to re-cover with leaves.
Exit the up trail to the West, 65 steps, past a very large deadfall, exiting onto Dellwood Rd, where Michael St intersects.
Checked on Oct 8, 2005 and replaced with hand-carved stamp.
