Scandia was the first Swedish settlement in the state of Minnesota, and a historical marker just outside of town commemorates that fact. If you're downtown in Scandia, head south on Olinda trail until you see the brown sign pointing you toward the historical marker. As you stand in front of the marker itself, take a reading of 300 degrees by the compass. See the tree? This letterbox is located under a small pile of rocks at the base of this tree. Replace with care!
